For new clients, please arrive 15 minutes early to complete registration and allow us time to share a little bit about ourselves. If you are an existing client, please arrive 5-10 minutes before class to check in and get settled on your mat. Due to our infrared sessions and security reasons, we lock our doors promptly at the start of class.
Yes, we cannot stress this enough. We try our best to accommodate walk ins, but the only way to guarantee you will have a spot in class is to pre-register. If you are having issues, please call our studio at 757.525.3660 and we can book your class for you.
While we provide all barre, spin, and yoga materials, we do encourage students to bring bottled water with you. If you happen to forget, we offer filtered water for free in our retail area that is available to you before and after class. For all infrared classes, you are required to bring a yoga mat towel. If you forget a towel, we offer yoga mat towels in our retail area. A cubby area will be provided in the reception area for clients to store their personal belongings; however, the studio is not liable for these items.
While spin and barre classes differ in shoe wear, feel free to wear any comfortable athletic clothing. Leggings and tank tops are most common. In barre, socks are not required, but are recommended. In spin, tennis shoes are required, but we ask that you take them off before entering the studio room for hygienic purposes.
We are currently using infrared in our INTENSE barre and hot yoga classes. These are 45 minute classes that we heat up to 90 degrees to create flexibility, weight loss, pain relief, skin clarity, and rid your body of toxins and impurities. Infrared heat works by heating objects before it heats the air, causing less humidity and more work outs at your peak performance level. Hence why we use infrared over regular heat.
At this time, we do not. All of our instructors are trained thoroughly on how to cater to each and every clients needs. There are modifications to every activity that we do. If you have limitations, please discuss this with the instructor prior to class.

1) Send a screenshot of your barcode, name, & 16 digit code to 757-525-3660.
2) Print out the PDF version with your 16 digit code on the bottom right corner and bring it to the studio during any class time.
If you have not created an account, please do so at wellnessliving.com/login/BarreByTheBay. From there sign the liability waiver, and add a credit card to your file. Once this is complete, please follow the instructions above.
We highly suggest downloading the Wellness Living Achieve App from your App Store— this will streamline your account set-up and billing options. When adding a card to your account through the Wellness Living Achieve App press the three bars on the top right side, click “billing”, and add card!
Please give us up to 24 hours to add your Groupon to your account.
Our studio has a 4-hour late cancellation policy. Any classes missed or cancelled within 4 hours of class will be charged a full class pass or a $10 fee. There are no hard feelings for a cancellation or a missed class, we simply must maintain the integrity of our policy.
*Cancellation window for workshops and events will remain 24 hours.
